Hello Panther families!

This new year of school has begun. While we wish we were able to be together in person, students and teachers have been working hard together virtually to ensure that the learning doesn’t stop! Here are some upcoming events to support our Panther families and bring together our Mann UCLA community. Please stay tuned to this page for more updates.

Mann UCLA Community School celebrates Latinx Heritage Month

Happy Latinx Heritage month! We are proud to celebrate the Hispanic community and the diversity of all our Latinx community, students and families! Every Friday in Advisory, all classes will be engaging in a discussion celebrating the Hispanic and Latinx community.

This celebration has become a vital opportunity to dispel ignorance, prejudice and fear through education about multiculturalism and the history of the countless contributions of Latinx communities.

The term “Latinx” is used rather than Hispanic or Latino to represent the identities of non-binary, gender non-conforming and gender-expansive people. “Latinx” also centers the lives of indigenous, Brazilian and other non-Spanish speaking people in this celebration.

Save the Date for our Virtual Back to School Night!

Parent Workshop – Academic Fundamentals

We understand how important it is for our students to stay on top of their academics. So we would like to invite you to come participate in our first virtual parent meeting as we give a brief overview of what is needed to help your student have a successful school year. During this meeting, we will discuss the online learning and engagement guidelines. We will also go over the requirements for students to culminate and/or graduate. Give an overview of the responsibilities and services for our English Language Learner students. And we will discuss the benefits of signing up for the Parent Portal as well as provide a tutorial on how to sign up.
